8/11/2023 0 Comments Using link it later magic bandsIf your vacation is a last-minute one you can grab standard grey ones at the front desk. WDW theme park turnstiles require fingerprint touch identification, so keeping them straight from the beginning will save you a headache. As a family of three, many times we end up choosing the same colors (there’s eight color choices at the moment) and it’s super easy to mix them up. If you’re staying on property during your vacation, make sure you customize your MagicBands – especially the back of them. You can still oder them, and customize them, but it will cost you anywhere from $10 and up. Things Not to Do with Disney Magic Bands – Don’t Forget to Customize Your MagicBandsĢ021 Update: This year, Disney is discontinuing free MagicBands when you book a resort stay. If you’ve purchased a MagicBand from the Shop Disney website or inside the parks and haven’t linked it to your account or activated it, you can totally gift it to someone to use.Īll you’ll need to do is add a MagicBand to the MDE app or ask Guest Services at the parks to help them add it. It will save a huge hassle come time to re-scan it on another day. The first time you use it, you’ll be asked for a fingerprint identification at the park entrance turnstile, so try to remember which finger you used. You can deactivate it, but giving it to someone else to use is against WDW policy. Once you’ve ordered your MagicBand from the My Disney Experience website, it’s linked to your account and only your account. Don’t Forget You Can Wear Magic Bands 24/7 – Even to Swim!.Don’t Forget to Wear Magic Bands to the Theme Parks and Water Parks.Things Not to Do with Disney Magic Bands – Don’t Forget to Customize Your MagicBands.Don’t Forget to Select Fasspass+ Selections at the Proper Time Frame.Things Not to Do with Disney Magic Bands – Don’t Trade MagicBands with Anyone Else.(we did actually sell to a collector with caveat that band would not work at all. Plus - Disney tech sucks and everyone will probably think I'm rather evil for trying to sell MB on ebay. Point - I think you have to buy HM in park, you can't buy ahead of time, you can't have another person buy it for you, but they are currently plentiful in park so you shouldn't have any worries. Or simply buy a ticket for another person - no names or whatever security is required. And you can buy tickets for others and (if you want, not that you should) jack up the price. It's rather foolish seeing as the band is merely a piece of plastic that "holds" the info rather than an actual "ticket". I don't see why I couldn't buy a "blank band", after all, they were limiting them to 2 per person, and hey, what if I really had been buying them for my brother who lives in Chicago, or a friend in another state who liked Star Wars.īut no, you had to purchase those special bands in park and put them with your ticket then. Weird, I know, and totally my fault for not trying to by them "blank". Then I tried to unlink the band, and was told by IT that I wouldn't "wipe" the bands memory. But hey, a Florida girl sometimes needs to make a bit of money.) Anyway, they linked the band to mine (which I didn't want) and said that they had to link when I purchased them. I bought them with the intent of selling them later on ebay since they were so popular (evil, I know. We found out the hard way with the Star Wars bands. The limited edition bands are not - in my experience - linkable to another person. I can go with the band cover instead but it'd be totally cool to have this band since I'm a huge Haunted Mansion fan and wasn't able to get my hands on this before. I've found some on Ebay that I'm willing to pay the upsale price for, but.should I trust this? The listing says that the band is new in box, that box is sealed, and is link-it-later and can be linked to any account. I know you can buy the Magic Bands beforehand on on and then link them to your separately purchased passes even if you're not staying on-site.īUT! I really, really would love to be able to use one of the limited edition Haunted Mansion Magic Bands. My husband and I still want to use Magic Bands for our park passes, purchases in the park, and possibly Fastpass+ (we'll be going during a pretty slow time, but I still like having them to fall back on). We're currently planning another trip for November of next year, however this will be a trip of nine people (my side of the family), mostly financed by my parents, and we'll be staying off-site in a rental home. We stayed at CBR and did everything online through My Disney Experience and our iPhone app. I have used Magic Bands once before when my husband and I visited WDW in February of this year.
